MUKTAA Helpline is a free service that is run by volunteers and is financially supported by donations. There is no program-based institutional support for MUKTAA. MUKTAA exists today because some people helped! You can too!

I want to volunteer

Volunteers are the center of MUKTAA. You can volunteer in several ways:

1. Train to be a phone counselor – your work will directly help save lives. This requires high levels of time commitment – about 4 hours a week.


2. Help us with promotion – there are several low cost promotion avenues that need volunteers. Sticking posters, conducting street plays, puppet shows – you can decide what interests you.


3. Advocacy – If you can write well, you can help post articles on the Web about what MUKTAA does and about the issue of HIV.


4. Awareness programmes – As part of our work, we conduct several awareness and educational programmes for people of various sections – students, slums, factories, doctors. You can help us conduct such programmes and thus help make a difference.
